As a vintage fashion lover, there's nothing quite like discovering a shop that sells unique, affordable vintage goods. I want to talk about one of the UK's best vintage clothing shops Penelope's Attire which is an Etsy shop that sells some of the best vintage finds that you can get. A little about the shop- run by Charlotte, the shop features an eclectic, stylish and chic range of clothing that varies from the 1950s to 2000s.
Penelope's Attire stands out to me for several reasons. First, they have a lot of branded goods like items from Burberry and the like which sells for a very reasonable price. I love their range of brands and you can really find some high-quality gems in their shop. Second, the shop is simply one of the most affordable vintage clothing shops that I've ever come across. Most vintage shops on Etsy sell things that aren't too cheap, and you might struggle to find things under 100 pounds. Penelope's Attire, however, sells items that are pretty much in the 150 pounds or below range which means that it's really affordable and worth the money! Lastly, I love the shop's shipping times as I got my order within a few days of paying which was extremely fast.
Now, I want to talk about two items that I purchased from the store and do a little review so you can see what they look like. I'll talk about the quality and design of the pieces, as well as give an honest review of why I think Penelope's Attire is simply one of the best vintage shops that you can find.
I ordered this beautiful Burberry leather and merino wool jacket from the brand because my gosh, it was simply stunning! I've never really owned a vintage Burberry jacket before as most of them are really expensive. However, for 85 pounds this jacket was a total steal. It was a size 12 but I liked how it was a little oversized on me as most vintage items are. Vintage Burberry jackets are so hard to find, and I love how Penelope's Attire stocks rare and unusual pieces of clothing such as this one. The cut is so 90s and features a high neckline and shoulder pads. I absolutely adore the jacket and would totally give this a 10/10 for it's quality and condition. The jacket was perfect and had no flaws, and no vintage smell!
The second thing that I ordered was this lovely 1950s camel pea coat, which was something that I've had my eyes on for ages. I love the design of this classic coat and got a lot of compliments on it when I wore it out for my birthday party last week. I absolutely adore the design of the coat and it's large lapels which was signature of coats back in the 50s. I think this coat had a slight vintage smell when I got it, so I washed it by hand and it turned out perfectly lovely. I'd definitely recommend washing vintage items before wearing them and this coat was well worth the 35 pounds that I paid for it!
Overall, this shop is one of the UK's best vintage clothing shop and a true hidden gem. I hope you like my review!
