Best Vintage Clothing Shops On Etsy- Vintage Closet Box Review

As a fashion blogger, I'm always on the hunt for high-quality but affordable clothing to add to my collection. Recently, I've been very much into vintage shopping because it's more affordable and better for the environment, because, you know, sustainability is the latest trend in the fashion world. Vintage Closet Box is a shop that made me super excited because I think you'll all love their cute, retro and trendy range of pre-loved items.

A bit about the brand- Vintage Closet Box is a vintage clothing shop based in the UK and sells exclusively on Etsy. The shop is run by Julie, who is super enthusiastic about sourcing the best vintage clothing from all over the UK to sell to customers. She's really approachable and friendly, and sells the most gorgeous range of vintage clothing that I've seen in a while. 

Now, vintage clothing shopping is tricky. First, you have to find the right size and shape. Some sellers don't put enough information about their clothes's sizing on their item descriptions. This makes it incredibly difficult to find the right fit and cut. This brand, however, makes sure that all their descriptions include exact garment measurements which is super helpful for someone like me who is in-between sizes. 

Secondly, vintage clothing can carry strange smells from their previous owners or contain perfumes, which can be difficult to wash off. Vintage Closet Box however, sells clothing that are free from that musky, old smell. The clothing they have are all clean and in great condition. 

Third, sometimes listings just don't have enough photos to persuade buyers to purchase something that has been worn. It takes a lot more to convince people to buy second-hand than first-hand. Vintage Closet Box makes sure their listings are comprehensive and contains lots of photos so you can see exactly what you're getting. 

I ordered this Viyella Wool Cashmere Camel Coat from the brand after seeing it listed on Etsy and falling in love with it at first sight. Take a look below at what it looked like! 

  I was hesitant at first to get a coat that was from the 1990s, but decided that I don't want to spend 300 pounds on a brand new coat when I could be helping the environment by buying a pre-loved item. Also, there's something "extra" about a pre-loved vintage coat which makes me love it more- it's as though I feel like I found a treasure amongst the sea, so buying vintage definitely gives me this added joy. Julie was a pleasure to work with and made sure my order was shipped first class so I got it the next day. 

I'm pleased with my camel coat's quality and versatility. This beautiful coat is made from 90% pure wool and cashmere, which is comfortable and breathable. In terms of quality, the coat is one of the best that I've ever owned as it's warm and thick, and nothing like those thin ones I see in the shops these days.  Those don't keep warmth very well, but this camel coat is extremely cozy and holds in heat pretty well. In terms of versatility, you can style it with anything, jeans, shorts, tights, skirts or even think of something unique. 

Overall, I'm so happy to finally be able to write about one of my favourite wardrobe pieces of this year. I've been eager to get myself a lovely coat for the cooler months, and this Vintage Closet Box piece really hits the perfect balance between cute and stylish. Plus, I'm a lover of vintage clothing, so this is lovely coat is definitely going to be one of my most-worn pieces ever. I got lots of compliments when I first wore this coat out!
