Hey everyone! It was my boyfriend's birthday a few days ago, and it's his special 26th birthday. I wanted something unique, fun and happy to celebrate this special day, and I want to show you one of the cutest birthday cakes that I've ever seen! Today, I'm going to feature a special, cake shop called Happy Cakes, an Oxford-based cupcake shop that makes some of the best cupcakes that I've ever seen!
A bit about the shop- owned by Julia, the owner's love for cupcakes, baking and making beautiful edibles started when she was young. Founded in 2009, Happy Cakes makes sure that all their cupcakes are fun, beautiful and best of all, happy! I was lucky enough to be able to try a special giant cake that Julia made for me, which was customized because I wanted a dog-shaped cake. Note that Julia focuses on making cupcakes for customers, so this is a rather special, "large" cupcake (or so you may call it)! Take a look below!
I love the shape of the cake, as it came out perfectly after I sent Julia an image that I wanted to feature. The cake looked exactly like how I wanted it to be, and was large and came in a giant paper box. The box also contained a firework which was a lovely touch, though I didn't use it on my cake as we didn't have a lighter!
As for the texture and the taste, everything was wonderful. The cake was sweet, perfect in moisture and not too dry, and was just the right size. I loved celebrating my birthday with my boyfriend's mum this year, and we ate a lot of cake and had a great time. I love how the frosting is so perfectly flavoured and layered inside the cake. It's so lovely and delicious, and I am so happy to be able to enjoy this delicious and wonderful cake.
