Now, why do I need to refresh my balayage? For one, it grows out pretty fast as the hair on top of your head isn't coloured as much. For me, I got a caramel and brown ombre dye, which blended in well with my black hair. However, it grew out within around 4 months and now the top of my head has completely turned black again! It's not a great look, so stylists usually recommend people get it refreshed every 3-5 months.
I want to talk about my experience doing a balayage refresh plus an olaplex treatment at their beautiful salon, as well as show you some photos of my experience. Take a look below!
My experience at the salon was simply amazing. Anabel, my stylist said that she wanted to give me a more natural and darker tone because my original balayage was too brassy. It was getting too orange and fading away, and she said she would refresh the roots higher up than last time. I really love the fact that she took care to assess my hair and give me what I want.
I sat through the foil highlights which were hand-painted on by the stylist. This process took the longest time, as it's quite time consuming and detailed. The reason Balayage is so worth it is because of the natural result and this customized, painted technique. This took up a long time, and my hair was treated with a darker toner and an olaplex treatment which softens and heals the broken bonds in the hair.
After 3 hours of treatment and colouring, I'm sure you're dying to see the results!
In terms of the overall result, I've never been happier with Live True London's services than now as my hair looks better than ever. The roots have completely been touched up and dyed, and I no longer have that "carrot top" effect on my roots. I love the colouring and toner too, as the brown highlights blend seamlessly into my hair like a painted canvas. I adore the balayage effect that the salon helped me create and I'm sure I'll love this style for years to come.
In terms of the service, Annabel, the stylist that I had was professional, caring and interesting to talk to. She kept me entertained throughout the hours that I spent in the salon, as well as offered me something to drink. The salon itself is extremely comfortable to sit in, and there was a great mix of people to talk to when you're doing your treatment. I love how efficient, professional and well-run Annabel and Live True London was.
As for the look, the balayage that I got received so many compliments that I lost count. My friends, family and boyfriend all said that they loved my look, and I even got asked by strangers where I did my hair! I absolutely adore my new colour and it has really changed my look from an outgrown "black" to a beautiful blend of browns and dark coffees. It also looks really good on black clothing, and gives off a relaxed, casual vibe. I think it's a fantastic hair colour and I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to transition from virgin hair to coloured hair, or for someone who wants something a bit more unique than normal hair dyes.
All in all, I'm extremely happy with my balayage from Live True London as it was done professionally, beautifully and with the utmost care and skill. The experience that I had from this salon was excellent and I would recommend them to anyone. I had such a lovely time at Live True London in Clapham, and they always make me look like a million dollars. I hope you can check out Live True London and try them out if you need a haircut or colouring, and check out their website for more information!
