I’ve been eyeing a unique and cool eyewear store in Shoreditch, London lately. They’re called Kite Eyewear and they have these stylish, edgy frames on display in their lovely Shoreditch store. Now, I’m really fortunate to be able to show you this new pair of glasses that I got from Kite Eyewear and I’m going to talk to you about my experience ordering a pair of glasses from their store from beginning to end.
A bit about Kite Eyewear- founded in London, this stylish, wonderful, distinctive eyewear brand offers a unique bespoke service for those of you who want new glasses. It’s more of a bespoke “eye bar” than a normal optical shop. The aim of Kite Eyewear is to offer a more personalized and relaxed environment to choose glasses and get your eyes tested. Their store in Shoreditch exudes sophistication and style, and is set up unlike any other eyewear store that I’ve seen. It’s more modern, simple and of course, fun to visit. Plus, they offer you drinks when you talk to their staff about buying a pair of glasses!
So how did I actually order my glasses? I first booked an appointment online using their easy-to-use website so that an optician can examine my eyes. It was super easy to do and I went on a Saturday to test my eyes. The shop itself is extremely modern and friendly, and I chatted to a lovely optician before doing the examinations. Kite Eyewear is extremely cool and they use the latest technology to test your eyes, including some machines that I’ve never seen before. The result was that I got my prescriptions within around 45 mins, which was quick, convenient and super accurate too.
Afterwards, I had a chat with a few lovely people working behind the counter at Kite, and they recommended some frames that would suit my face shape for me to try. The staff was super helpful and knowledgeable about the different types of frames available, and explained everything to me clearly. I also walked around the shop to check out all the different types of frames. Kite Eyewear stocks a lot of frames, suiting people of all shapes and sizes. They have some of the coolest and most unusual styles that I’ve seen (including a cool cat-eye glasses, as well as their awesome hexagon glasses) as well as more normal ones such as wayfarers and round frames. There’s a lot to choose from.
What caught my eye was Kite Eyewear’s own original line called the Legends. This line of glasses was just released in 2018, and they feature unique designs made from leather, steel and plastic, and a huge range of different frames that are quite hip, trendy and totally unique. I’ve never seen anything quite like these frames, as they’re wonderfully light, durable and feels amazing on. I’ve taken a lot of pictures of the Legends, and I ultimately chose a pair of Legends Havana for myself.

After about 1.5 weeks, my pair of glasses was ready for collection, and of course you can choose to have them send it to your address too. I’m super happy with them and they fit me perfectly. Usually, there’s always an issue when I get larger glasses as the prescriptions are sometimes a bit off or the lenses aren’t quite right. However, none of these problems arose with my Kite frames. The prescriptions themselves were perfect and I’m able to see clearly without any of the dizziness that usually comes with new glasses. The Legend frames are so unique and gorgeous, and I got lots of compliments for these frames.
In terms of the quality, these frames are made in Italy and designed in England so you literally have the best of both worlds. The frames are extremely light (I’d say around 10g) and the lenses that I got were extremely thin as I have really bad eyesight and need thick glasses. The lightness of the frames means that I can wear them all day without getting tired, and they’re very nice to carry around. The frame itself is extremely well-made, and I love the blend of plastic, metal and leather as they give my glasses an artistic flair. The quality of my Kite Eyewear glasses are amazing, and they look and feel like a luxurious accessory that I’ll treasure forever.
What’s cool is that the glasses came with a leather case which is totally stylish, as well as a cloth and some cleaning spray for you to wipe the glasses. I walked out of the store feeling extremely happy with the glasses that I got. It’s quite a rare thing to feel this way from getting a pair of glasses, as most opticians don’t give you this kind of treatment. From beginning to end, Kite Eyewear delivered a bespoke and luxurious service that no where else can match. It’s literally a delightful experience in itself!
Overall, the whole process of ordering frames from Kite Eyewear was convenient, pleasant and extremely fast. My glasses are extremely well-made and high quality, and definitely worth the price. I’m really impressed with the bespoke service that Kite Eyewear offers, as well as their reasonable prices and gorgeous, luxurious range of frames available. I’d definitely order from them again. There’s seriously nothing that compares to them, and they’re definitely the best eyewear shop that I’ve ever visited.
