My Winter Wardrobe Essentials - Baukjen Review

Simple and minimalistic. These two words describe my favourite style. I'm in love with workwear as every modern woman needs them for work. I'm no exception, and today I want to show you some items that I got from one of my favourite brands ever.

The brand in question is called Baukjen which is a cool, chic and simple brand that sells some of the most fantastic and minimalistic items that I've ever seen. The brand is catered towards women of all shapes and sizes, and they sell gorgeous coats, jackets, trousers, shirts and accessories for the modern woman. They pride themselves on high-quality materials, impeccable designs and their signature range of workwear and leather jackets- and trust me, all of their items are fantastic!

I first heard about Baukjen when I did some research into the most trustworthy brands for women's clothing. The founder, Baukjen de Swaan Arons, born in Amsterdam and raised in London, brings a Dutch as well as London influence to the collections. Baukjen is known for their unique, in-house designs that all compliment each other, and everything on their site pretty much goes well with simple tops and outfits that you may already have.

Anyway, I ordered two items and they came in a lovely box.

The first thing that I got was this lovely pair of Kyla Cigarette Pants- I chose this pair of trousers because it was perfect for work. I'm a working woman who needs an elegant wardrobe, and Baukjen's simple and immaculate designs fit the bill perfectly. Think glamorous, edgy and chic, and you get this pair of trousers. It's stretchy, fitting and extremely flattering on the legs. It makes my legs look so long in heels, and also fits like a glove. It's absolutely wonderful!

It's pretty much the best pair of pants for a timeless, classical look. I reckon that it will be suitable from the boardroom to the bar, and it makes every blouse look better as it's black and easy to pair. The material is also excellent. The fabric of this pair of trousers is soft, durable and stretchy. It is made from a heavyweight ponte jersey that I've never ever felt before. This wonder fabric offers support and you’ll love the way it hugs the waist thanks to a high-rise, clean-finish waistband that zips up along the side. I'm in love with this pair of trousers, and think it would be suitable for most occasions.

As for the second item, I got this lovely Blair Long coat which is absolutely my dream coat- and I'm so grateful that I found it on Baukjen's site. This coat is made from a cozy 80% wool and 20% polyamide, which gives it a beautiful warm feel, and it's soft and smooth as a result of the absolutely good quality wool that they use. The fabric feels warm and waterproof, as well as soft on the skin too. I adore the Blair coat since it's super warm for the winter, and would make a great piece for layering over a blouse or a skirt.

The coat itself is also flattering and lovely to wear - it's definitely a slimmer, tailored cut which gives it an extra level of sophistication. This staple piece can withstand the test of time, since it has a classic silhouette featuring a long-line shape, a belted waist and a double-breasted style in front. It looks like a coat that Kate Middleton would wear, and I'm absolutely loving the design.

Overall, Baukjen's definitely my go-to shop for minimalist, simple workwear and formal wear. They do a huge range of formal clothing as well as more casual pieces such as the leather jackets and coats, and they all look amazing on women of any shape and size.
