As a highly artistic and creative person, I've always loved receiving gifts that relate to my inner artist. I recently had a birthday and to be honest, no one gave me a gift that touched upon my creative juices. Anyway, today I want to review something that will be a great gift for artists such as myself. I'm going to talk about Hunkydory Crafts, a lovely shop that sells a variety of arts and crafts materials.
A bit about the brand- the brand began back in 1990 at a humble little wool and needlecraft shop in Preston, Lancashire. The founders of the brand Ann and David Newhouse bought some peel-off stickers to add greetings to handmade cards. Ann and David were quickly hooked on this new idea, and decided to extend the offerings of their wool and needlecraft shop into something far bigger. The shop now sells lots of accessories and craft materials suitable for everyone, and they're really comprehensive with their range of items!
I got three items from the shop. The first is this lovely Waterbrush Trio set that the shop sells as part of their water-colour range. This pack contains 3 brushes, each with different sizes tips: small, medium and large, which means that it is appropriate for different sized paintings. The water-colour techniques you can use with these brushes are endless. Each brush contains a inner reservoir for water, which comes out as you squeeze the brush. The result is an easy-to-use brush, which means that I can use it in any way I want. The ergonomic handle is very comfortable to hold, and the brushes are simply amazing!
The second thing I got was this 68-page Prism Crafting Handbook- this gorgeous pad features very thick and sturdy paper which is perfect for water-colour paintings. The paper means that the colour won't stain or flood the paper, and they're totally perfect for drawing in. These paper goes well with the Prism water-colour pencils and they feature A5 sheets which are easy to carry around, perfect for drawings in the quaint villages of the South of France! In fact, I'm going to Paris soon and will bring these for when I want to draw beautiful landscapes.
The last thing I got were these Prism Watercolor Pencils- these gorgeous pencils come in a set and there are a total of 48 pencils available. The amazing and bold colors in Prism Watercolour Pencils allow for a variety of colour to be simply and easily applied to your sketches. These colour pencils can be diluted with water to allow for the beautiful flow and texture that water-colour painting allows for. I adore the roll-on container that comes with these pencils as they save up SO much space. They roll up to form a neat little bundle and can fit in my school bag. Perfect for artists everywhere.
Overall, I can't say how much I love these water-colour pencils. They're perfect and gorgeous and the Prism set is just amazing to use. I'd gift these to my mum who loves art, but they're so good that they suit every artist out there!
