Hey everyone! It's been a while since I've posted something candid and not about product reviews, so this post is going to be a little bit special. I want to talk about an amazing shop that I've had the pleasure of visiting recently. I instantly fell in love with the shop and their products, and I jumped at the chance to show you guys what I found. The shop is called Barley Oxford and it is based in the lovely city of Oxford, in Oxfordshire, United Kingdom. They specialise in independent British-manufactured brands.
A bit about the shop- run by the lovely Esmee, Barley Oxford is a classy, elegant and wonderfully designed shop featuring various brands of clothing. They are in the process of creating their own label, but currently stock a huge number of different brands of womenswear, of which are so lovely and beautiful. Best of all, the shop also stocks skincare ranges from Oxford, which means that the shop supports small local businesses as well as bigger brands elsewhere.
I had such a fun time visiting the shop. Esmee showed me around, and I got to see the two floors of the shop. The ground floor stocked a colorful and eclectic range of clothing, including sportswear, accessories, dresses and jackets. The top floor had a lovely changing room, mirrors and lots of other brands including leather bags, t-shirts, jackets and trousers. It was like walking into a cozy, comfortable designer shop!
As you can see, Barley Oxford is truly a beautiful shop. They have so much for you to choose from, and the design of the shop is like an elegant boutique shop. I'm sure shopping at Barley Oxford will bring out a sense of comfort, as the shop is extremely cozy and brightly lit. I had so much fun looking at all of their styles, and Esmee even offered to let me try on a few different shirts! I did a review of some of the brands that Barley Oxford stocks, including IC Joy, Essential Noir and others, and it was a pleasure to see the brands in real life.

The brand also sells directly on their website, so if you live outside of Oxford and can't afford to travel, it's easy to shop for your favourite items straight from their site! I love how accessible and user-friendly their site is, and it's such fun browsing online. I do think that shopping is totally different when you actually visit a shop though.
All in all, I'm extremely happy to have found this gem of a shop in Oxford. Oxford is a lovely city, but there just isn't too many small-scaled shops such as Barley Oxford that truly helps local brands thrive. Most of the shops in the city are catered towards mass consumerism and stocks large brands, but I agree with Barley Oxford's stance in that smaller, local businesses deserve recognition too. I'd highly recommend visiting the shop and chatting to Esmee, as she's lovely, friendly and an absolute pleasure to talk to!
