That Perfect Pair of Chinos - Spoke London Review

It's gift season and it's time for another brand feature- this time the spotlight falls on Spoke, a lovely shop that sells perfectly-fitting trousers for men. So what is so special about Spoke? The founders decided in 2014 that normal menswear shops just weren't getting the fit right, and sought to create a shop that sells perfectly fitted trousers for men. The trousers that they stock are somewhere between "made to measure" and bespoke- the trousers come in a variety of sizes and cuts, and you can find your size automatically using their convenient fit finder. 

So I decided to enter my boyfriend's measurements into their fit finder, and viola- the measurements came straight out of the generator. My boyfriend's waist is 32 inches, and his build is a "B". The way their sizing works is that they account for your body's size and shape, so that the trousers fit perfectly in a stylish, elegant way. There's nothing worse that trousers that don't fit, and this is important when buying a pair of trousers for any guy!

Now, onto the review! Spoke sells a variety of trousers- they have their "Heroes" collection which features casual, 99% cotton chinos which are better for casual occasions. They have the "Sharps" collection which is better for men who wears smart-casual or formal chinos to work. They also have the "Fives" collection, which is their most casual style.

I chose to get a pair of dark navy chinos from their Sharps collection because it looked formal and smart, and my boyfriend could do with a new pair of work pants! The package came really quickly in a beautiful blue and white box, and it was perfectly wrapped, so this is literally super important if you're buying a gift! I just love Spoke's presentation and packaging.

The quality of the trousers are amazing- the most important thing in a good pair of chinos is that it feels good and looks fitted. My pair of chinos looks tailored and slim-fitting, but not too slim and tight around the thighs. The material the trousers are made of is a crisp 7 1/2 oz stretch cotton, which feels light, clean and comfortable to wear. I think this is great for work occasions, as anything too soft wouldn't' hold it's shape and looks bad with formal shoes!

In terms of design, these chinos also didn't disappoint. It had simple welt pockets, beautiful minimised stitchings and has a simple design which gives it a clean and basic look. I love how the design is very detail-oriented- the little button on the chinos looked exquisite, and the trousers had a lovely white lining which gave it an extra bling.

Overall, I'm super impressed with Spoke's service, fitting and styles. Their fit finder was definitely the highlight of my experience shopping with them, and I really love their website because it's so clean, beautiful and easy to use! The trousers are perfectly fitted, and if you're not happy you can return it and exchange it for another pair. What's there to lose?
