A Stripey Affair- Gearbest Dress Review

I've been wanting a shirt dress- you know, those dresses that looks like a loose shirt except you fit it with a belt in the middle- for ages now. Imagine my surprise when Gearbest, a quirky online shop that sells pretty much everything, asked me to review one of their items in their fashion range. I was quick to choose a shirt dress to try- and I'm glad to say that this dress really did exceed my expectation. Honestly, it is one of the nicest shirt-dresses ever- it fits in all the right places, hugs my waist and isn't too short or too long. 

I hate it when online shops make things that don't look like their photo. I'm really pleased to say that my new dress looks fabulous- see some of the shots I took below! The material is light yet sturdy, and it feels lovely on my skin. I'm 5'6 so I'm not a short girl, but the dress fits just at the right length.

I also chose a second dress to try out. I went for a more formal look this time. The top was a little sheer- I think you have to wear nude underwear for the top as it's quite see-through. But the bottom was fine. Although this time, I ordered the wrong size (it was too big) the dress fits because of the belt which came with the dress. I'm glad it has a belt, because otherwise it looks awkward. With the belt, everything looks alright. It does look slightly different to the picture though so I would say that this dress wasn't as high-quality as it looked.

I think it's interesting how sites like Gearbest, which sells electronics, accessories and lots of random different things, sells clothes. They have quite a large range of clothes, and shipping is generally free. I have to say- be careful of what you choose online because some of it may be a hit and miss. Luckily, with my new dresses, they're quite good and the shirt dress in particular is excellent quality. The other dress, however, is a bit on the thin side.
