Hey lovelies! I've just moved into my new room at university and it's absolutely amazing! I chose to live in a ground floor room because it was bigger and more expensive, and I finally know why it's more costly than the other rooms. My toilet is awesome and the tap is great, as compared to my old room. Anyhow, I spent 2 days unpacking, suffering from jet lag and also generally decorating my room. My room has a pillar in the corner somewhere, and after a lot of thought, I finally decided to do something with the pillar and transform it into a thing of beauty… kind of!
I have been waking up early these days because of jet lag, and mornings are never complete without a good old fashioned, tasty, hearty breakfast. I have been eating a new cereal called Keep Me Going lately because it's low in sugar, has 8 times less salt, 60% less sugar; twice the fibre and a low Gi, similar to traditionally made porridge (instant porridge has a high Gi). For those of you who don't know GI, a low GI means that the carbs break down slower and enter your blood gradually, so you don't experience a dramatic sugar spike after each meal.
I prefer eating this cereal with just skimmed milk, but you can add it to yogurt, porridge or even mix it with some other cereals to lower the sugar content. I'm trying to watch my diet since I gained a few pounds over the holidays because of too much cake and sugary foods, so this cereal is delightful.
Anyways, I start lectures in a few days so I'm going to be super busy. But it's always nice to relax and enjoy my new room before the craziness begins. I hope I don't get sick again like I did a few days ago. Being sick is such a pain!
