I've been inspired by some recent finds on image sharing websites to do a spotlight on the good old polaroid picture.
I'm sure all of you have come across "polaroid-typed" photos before, or have heard of this term, but did you know that originally these were used mainly for the modeling business ? Polaroids are usually needed for scouts or agencies to see the natural look of the model, with no posing, makeup and taken in two-pieced swimsuits.
Instant cameras aka. polaroid cameras have evolved to develop and print pictures immediately after taking them. With digital cameras getting more popular, it is refreshing to see people still using polaroid cameras. Even though the photo and quality is not as crystal clear, there is something nice about being able to hold the picture in your hands instead of looking at it in a tiny screen ! In fact, the tangible quality of the image is what makes polaroids so popular today.
Check out a few I took yesterday...

Polaroids - on playing the guitar, cousin

Simple images work best because polaroid cameras aren't as detailed as normal cameras. You can even edit photos to look like it's freshly pressed from an instant camera, and personally I totally love the vintage/ old styled colors and effect they give out. And here's more beautiful polaroids for your enjoyment ...

ReplyDeleteI need to buy some Polaroid 600 film but they dun make it anymore and some company is making em now (not the Polaroid company, but The Impossible Project) and it's like $35 for 10 =___= I dun wanna buy it right now cuz I can't afford such extravagance LOLOL. But in the future I will. My Polaroid was only $3.99 from Value Village! I dun wanna pay 10 times that just for a few pieces of film+battery. Aaah but what can you do.
